Visit three of Lake Atitlan's most famous Mayan villages and cycle through Guatemalan coffee and maize farms on this bike tour.
This bike tour through Lake Atitlan’s most-loved Mayan villages of San Marcos, San Juan and San Pedro transports you through countryside, coffee fields and farmlands where you’ll see indigenous communities tending to crops in traditional dress as they have for centuries.
We start biking in Tzununa, where a long stretch of countryside begins. Feel the wind and the sun on your skin as we peddle to the picturesque town of San Marcos la Laguna – known for its many meditation and yoga centres, and the youthful international visitors it attracts.
We cycle through coffee fields, the quiet San Pablo, and on to the Crystalina beach. After a short break, the next destination is San Juan with its colorful murals. Here, you can stop for an optional 2-hour village tour and learn the cultural significance behind this beautiful street art, visit art galleries, a medicinal plant garden operated by midwifes, coffee farms and weaving cooperatives where women demonstrate how local fabrics are made; from harvesting cotton, spinning it into yarn, dyeing the fabric, and ultimately creating one-of-a-kind fabrics using a back strap loom.
Lake Atitlan’s stunning beauty and broad diversity of towns can make it difficult for visitors to decide how best to see its attractions. This 2 in 1 bicycle and village tour lets you see it all whist being active and connecting with the landscape in a way that few visitors get to do.
Minimum 2 people per booking. 24 hour cancellation policy.
+$15 for the additional tour of San Juan.
